High Bay Lighting

Over the past few months I have started to see many more T-5 fixtures going in as replacements for HID fixtures. One of the school districts we are working for replaced all their HID fixtures in their gyms with these type fixtures. One reason would be a 60% energy savings over HID fixtures,The other would be there is no start up issue as with an HID fixture.

  • 35,000 hour rated life

  • Colors appear more vibrant and defined

Most of these I have seen are also Universal voltage (120/277) so there isn’t an issue of rewiring them and makes them great as a replacement.

FORD

That would stand for "Fix or repair daily" when things like this happen I feel like giving up especially when we are at a customers house. This poor old trencher has seen better days the bar and chain are worn out beyond repair and now the bushings are all but gone so maybe now we will get a new chain on it so it can once again dig.

Building The Service

The back box to our panel finally came the other day and today we finally set it in place. Now comes the fun part of pulling 250 XHHW from here to the house X3. Once we get the wire pulled and I can get everything terminated we will be one step closer to getting some permanent power turned on. This job has been a lot of fun because nothing on it has been normal.

One Born Every Day

Something Missing here in this picture can you see it? I would guess this would have been pretty loud going down the interstate I-81 is where he came from. Personally I think the SAFE thing to do would have been pull over WHEN you notice something like this, not continue driving WAITING for the rest of it to fly apart.

One Of Those Days

Today seemed like one of those days you wish was a Friday because it goes by so fast. I don't feel like I got anything done today at work, just started a whole bunch of new things but never completed anything really. That would be due to things I have ordered getting put on back order or whatever. Something that really got me mad a few weeks ago was a salesman came to our shop trying to sell a new home networking system they started to carry. Well it just so happened that we needed one on this job so I had them get me one, well one week turned to two and so on well finally our purchasing agent called to see where it was and they had to order it and it was en route they told us. I just think that's bad business to offer something as a wholesaler then not have it in stock or readily available.

Safty Tips

The holiday season is almost here and many of us are probably preparing for it. Be safe and be aware of what you are purchasing.

Counterfeit Goods: Not All Products Are What They Appear
Counterfeit electrical products may look just like other decorations we buy, but their similarities
end there. Counterfeits are not made to the same high standards and DO NOT offer the
protection from fire and shock that certified products do.
Buyers should beware of bargains that seem too good to be true. Products may be inexpensive because they are counterfeit or defective.
Avoid no-name products and purchase from reputable retailers.

Look for the UL, CSA or ETL-SEMKO certification marks. Check the warning label. It should be
free of grammatical errors and not conflict with information elsewhere on the package.
