Cold Day

wow was it ever cold today, Think I am just going to stay inside and watch tv, Cocoa has the right idea this was right after she woke up long enough to eat then she went back to bed.

Ubuntu 8.10

Well I am back from my hiatus, It wasn't by choice either. I have two computers both are custom built, well the other day my good one decided the usb ports didn't want to work any more. Unfortunately it wasn't a simple driver problem it looks as though something is bad on the motherboard. So thanks to tiger direct I am back in business. My old one was an Amd Athlon 64 X2 4200 this time I opted to go Intel and I got a 3 ghz dual core all I can say is WOW, that paired with Ubuntu 8.10's new look is incredible. The best part is the motherboard I got has HDMI ports on it along with HD audio.

Electricity Is On

What a week we had, The other day a freak snow storm blew through the area creating a white out long enough to cause a major wreck on the interstate closing it down a few hours and in turn making driving around here a nightmare. yesterday went a little smoother though we finally got the 1000 amp service going at the old farmhouse. Then of course we had to start removing all of the old overhead wiring from years gone by. We will be a few days getting all of the old stuff cleaned up and of course the weather is not looking good for the beginning of the week.

Eagles View

Here is a photo of two eagles that live nearby. We have seen them many times, they are amazing creatures. There is a nature preserve near our home and this weekend if its not storming I may go up and do some hiking. I was told there was another family of eagles living near there and I would like to see if I can locate their nest and get some photo's of them as well.

New Kitchen

After a few months of working in the old farmhouse it is finally starting to come together. Today we went up and put the finishing touches in the kitchen a few dimmers and a panel for the home audio rack. This was a before picture here.






And this is today. I never dreamed this kitchen was going to look this nice. This is what makes my day. Granted I only did the electrical part and thats only a small percentage of it I still feel proud just being part of the whole process.

Welcome To OZ

Wow was the wind ever terrible yesterday, We were on a job site that is basically in a big open field and the wind was blowing pretty good all day. this stop sign looked like it was going to blow away. It is right in the middle of the frame and i should have got a little closer but you can still get the idea. I cant imagine having to actually work outside in it.I hope everyone had a safe and happy new year.

Three Phase service

Today we pulled wire into the service, this is a 200 amp 3 phase service. We still have all our feeders to pull out of this panel to our branch circuits.
