Up In The Woods

This is what we worked on Friday after getting back home. We are getting the trail opened back up to the top of the hill. It has grown up so much in the last few years you can't walk up there anymore. This is only about a 1/4 of the way but, I plan on getting more done today. We saw a few deer yesterday when we were out clearing trees.

In The Trenches

This is a picture of our outdated Ditch Witch that probably should have been buried in a ditch long ago. It has seen way to many trenches and is long past retirement. What was supposed to be a simple 190' trench turned into a three day ordeal in which we became landscapers, mechanics, labourers and electricians.

Here is a good shot of the chain after it decided to try and Chew on itself some, the cutting teeth became lodged into the auger since the thing has so much play in it and it bent the chain. digging bars are great pry bars.

Ah the mountains, almost back home. I love summer but this time of year is nice I especially like it when its cool and brisk in the morning.

Traffic was really light this weekend considering its a holiday weekend. Really only had one hold up from construction.

Getting Ready For School

This was a school we worked in for the best part of the summer, We had to change all the ballast's and re-lamp all the fixtures in two complete schools and one bus garage, it was a total of about 2500 lights in all. The worst part about the ones in the picture is they were a "re lock" system with the plastic quick connectors on top "277 v" but since 1978 they had seen one to many tugs or what have you when ever someone was above the ceiling and many of them had become loose and or shorted out. So we had to cut all of the old connectors off and strip out the BX and put new MC connectors on everything, the good thing was it was only one school like that with 1200 lights but it was very time consuming.

Vacation For ME

Well the week of work has come to an end for me, thank god, what a day though my work truck took a crap this morning and we had to drop it off to get it fixed, then transfer all our tools into my personal truck. Of course we only took what we thought we needed , we didn't grab half the stuff we needed though. Oh well they had to bring us material so it all worked out ok.

We worked in this area today under this floor this was a lot of fun since the plumbers and HVAC guys had all their stuff in there but didn't leave us any space for conduit.I will be glad when all the remodeling things are done on this job and the new stuff starts. As for me i am going to enjoy my few days off and ride my 4 wheeler and do no more than i have to.

Help an underpaid electrician out and click a few links while you are here, Thanks a bunch

Tasteless Tuesday

Well the work day is over finally, well for the most part anyhow.

Off to the races

A group of 2nd, 3rd and 4th graders, accompanied by two female teachers, went on a field trip to the local racetrack (Churchill Downs) to learn about thoroughbred horses.

When it was time to take the children to the bathroom it was decided that the girls would go with one teacher and the boys would go with the other. The teacher assigned to the boys was waiting outside the men's room when one of the boys came out and told her that none
of them could reach the urinal.

Having no choice, she went inside, helped the boys with their pants, and began hoisting the little boy's up one by one holding onto their wee wees to direct the flow. As she lifted one, she couldn't help but notice that he was unusually well endowed. Trying not to show that she was staring, the teacher said, 'You must be in the 4th grade.'

'No, ma'am, ' he replied. 'I'm the jockey riding Silver Arrow in the seventh.

Now thats one nice teacher ;-)
how to tell when its going to be a bad day!

The things we do

As under paid electricians we some times have to go to wonderful places like this,

The Gc has killed a lot of snakes on this job already so I was kind of Leary about going down here but we had to run conduits across here. Oh well life is an adventure sometimes you can find cool stuff in places like this.

This is one of the many bathrooms this house has we are rewiring all of them up to code and putting fan lights in,Today we found out they are adding whole house audio and possibly a intercom and camera to the gate at the end off the driveway, more work for us. This job is getting a 40x60 building with an in ground pool that is heated and everything. The service keeps growing and growing. Some day we may see the light at the end of this tunnel.

Here is another shot of the crawl space we had to run conduit in today, I bet a few snakes have been down here before.

Very cool whole house audio system

Anyone needing security cameras
